Confirmation Information and Registration

Preparation for Confirmation is a two-year journey.

The first step to take is to enroll in the Confirmation preparation program by completing the Confirmation Registration form.

Parents and student will be advised of the date and time of the first class, which generally is set for one of the last Sundays in August. The first session will be held in the Saint Albert the Great School gymnasium. Parents are required to attend. In order to complete registration for Confirmation, please bring your child's baptismal certificate to the first session.  

Please note: Students who attended Bishop Manogue High School as Freshman may begin the Confirmation program as a Sophomore. You will receive one year of credit for the religion classes that you took your Freshman year. Students attending public High School will need to begin the Confirmation program in the 9th grade if you wish to be confirmed as a Sophomore.

Those who wish to be confirmed at Saint Albert the Great must be registered members of the parish.

First Year Confirmation Students (CI) 

First year students must be entering the 9th Grade (Freshman) or above in the current/upcoming school year. All first year students must attend all Youth Ministry nights and the Youth Rally held at Bishop Manogue High School in the Spring. Check the calendar for specific dates and times.

Second Year Confirmation Students (CII)

Second year students who plan on being confirmed in the Spring must be entering 10th Grade (Sophomore) or above in the current/upcoming school year. 

  • must have received the first two sacraments of initiation: Baptism and Eucharist,
  • must attend all Youth Ministry nights on Sunday evenings (three absences allowed.) A parent and/or godparent must also attend.
  • must attend all Confirmation classes. A parent and/or godparent must also attend.
  • must complete a minimum of 40 community service hours of which 8 must take place at Saint Albert's. Bishop Manogue students must complete 20 hours.
  • must attend at least one approved retreat within the two years of preparation,
  • must have an approoved sponsor (a practicing Catholic who has been confirmed). Parents cannot sponsor their children. Siblings may, if they have received all the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, & Confirmation.) Godparents might be considered to be sponsors. 

The specific date for Confirmation will be determined and announced as soon as it has been determined. The date is dependent on the Bishop's schedule as well as the parish's schedule.

The Confirmation fee is $75 per student per year and covers the cost of the retreat for CII's and the Youth Rally for CI's as well as other expenses that occur throughout the year.
